Edward George Yoschak, 86, of Josephine, passed away peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at his residence, where he was surrounded by the love and support of his family. The youngest son of the late Stephen and Elizabeth Yoschak (Marusek), he was born on Sept. 10, 1930. Ed was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption, Coral, where he served as a eucharistic minister. He was a former parishioner of St. Vincent Basilica in Latrobe, and there, too, he served as a eucharistic minister. Ed saw active duty in the Army during the Korean War and was wounded in battle. Following his stint in the military, Ed worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Greensburg until retirement. He had several passions, including woodworking, entertaining his grandchildren and gardening. In addition to his wife of nearly 61 years, Rose Marie, Ed is survived by four daughters: Mary Anne Jacobs and husband Jeff, of Jacksonville, Fla.; Peggy Hough and husband Bruce, of Pittsburgh; Jane Autry and husband Tim, of Atlanta; and Patricia Lozaw, of Greensburg. Ed is also survived by his son Edward, of Blairsville, as well as nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Marcella; his grandson Andrew; his brothers: Mike, Steve and Andy; and his sisters: Anne, Mary and Liz. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the C. Frederick Bowser Home Inc., Homer City. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Coral, with a private interment to follow. In lieu of sending flowers, the family asks donors to consider supporting the local charity of their choice.
