Richard Alan Barney

Richard Alan Barney, 64,of Homer City died January 2, 2017 at Indiana Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late George and Delores (Strong) Barney and was born March 14, 1953 in Indiana, PA. Richard was a member of the Red Barn Sportsman Club, the Homer City American Legion, the Blairsville Eagles and the Carpenters Union #1419. He enjoyed shooting pool with friends and riding his bike. He also enjoyed taking his 'baby' car for rides and building wood projects for people. Richard is survived by his two sons, Matthew and wife Jennifer Barney, Nathan Barney and his grandsons, Carter and Chase Barney, all of Homer City. He is also survived by his sister, Diane Doyle, his nephew Caleb Thomas and special friend, Connie Leysock. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Theresa Kent. Friends will be received Saturday from 11-3 PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City
