Alton G. Shaffer

Alton G. Shaffer, 86, of Coral, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025. He was the son of the late Sanford George and Beulah (Webber) Shaffer. Alton was born on December 29, 1938, in Josephine, PA.

He was a member of the State Workers Union and was a retired Psychiatric Aide from Torrance State Hospital. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors.

Alton is survived by his wife, Doris E. (Learn) Shaffer; his four daughters; Pamela Shaffer of Allison Park, Deborah Risinger of Homer City, Lori Davidson (Albert) of Ernest, and Lisa Erickson (Carl) of Tyrone. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren; Joseph, Zachury (Kristina), Emily, Joshua (Cherish), Mitchell, Amanda, Nathaniel, Ian, and Jayna; and his seven great-grandchildren, Danika, Izabella, Delylah, Isaiah, Talon, Carson, Benjamin.

In addition to his parents, Alton is preceded in death by his grandson, Albert Succheralli Davidson; his three brothers, Clyde W. Shaffer, Kenneth M. Shaffer and Donald B. Shaffer; his sister Betty McGarry, and his son-in-law, Richard Risinger.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and from 1 PM until the time of the Funeral Service at 2 PM at Bowser Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Homer City, PA. Interment to follow in the Coral Luther Cemetery.
