Andrew James Tassos

Andrew "Drew" James Tassos, 53, of Homer City, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 24, 2012 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends, along with many well wishes from all of those whose lives he touched. Born on March 30, 1958, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Andrew James Tassos, Sr. and the late Joan Betty Stepp. Drew will be remembered for his sense of humor, his willingness to help others when in need, and his genuine kindness to everyone. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, spending time with and entertaining his family and friends, and following his favorite football team, the Pittsburgh Steelers. Drew is survived by his wife of 31 years, Marie Ann Walbeck, son Seth Andrew Tassos, daughter Chelsea Lenore Stiles and spouse Michael Stiles, son James Justin Thompson and spouse Kelly Thompson, brother David Michael Tassos, sister Helena "Nina" Schrecengost and spouse Dennis Schrecengost, brother Kevin George Tassos, sister Katrina Joan Tassos, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Drew was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph "Joshua" Robert Tassos, and his parents. A memorial service for family and friends will be held at 4:00 p.m. at the Hope Lutheran Church, 35 Ridge Avenue, Homer City, with Pastor Stephen C. Bond officiating. Flowers are welcome. Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to the family to defray funeral costs
