Ann Plowcha, Homer City (Yankeetown) died Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late John and Ann (Gaudino) Mattio and was born May 24, 1926 in Latrobe. Ann was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, the UMWA and was employed by Brody's and Murphy's Department Stores. She enjoyed Quilting, Cooking and especially spending time with her family. Mrs. Plowcha is survived by 4 son, John Plowcha and wife Carole of Powhatan, VA; Edward; William Plowcha and wife Susan and Robert Plowcha and wife Jocelyn all of Homer City. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Susan, Michael, Edward, Rebecca, Marie, Brian, Kevin, Abigail and Stephen and 6 great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Joseph, Domenic, Zoe, Siena and Zachary Many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward John Plowcha in 2009; sisters, Dominica Lichota, Josephine Bonini and Joanna Mayausky and her brother, Robert Mattio. Friends will be received Thursday, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City. A blessing service will be held Friday at 10:30 AM at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Lucernemines Site with Rev. Ron Cyktor, the celebrant. Interment to follow in the St. Louis Cemetery Donations may be made to VNA Hospice
