Carmella K. Kanyan

Carmella K. (Aloi) Kanyan, 90, Coral died October 18, 2016 at Hillsdale Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was the daughter of the late John and Maria (Ammendolia) Aloi and was born November 18, 1925 in Starford. Carmella was postal clerk and retired from the Coral Post Office after 24 years of employment. She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, AARP and a member of the UMWA Auxillary. Carmella is survived by her son, Nicholas Kanyan and his wife Linda, Coral; two grandchildren, Jennifer and husband Scott Hafer, Hanover, PA and Nicholas Kanyan Jr, Josephine and one great grandson, Aden Hafer. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Sabo, Newton Falls, Ohio and two brothers, Anthony Aloi, Parma, Ohio and John Aloi and wife Helen, Starford, PA. Several nieces and nephews also survive her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas and two brothers, Frank and Nunziato. Friends will be received, Friday, 4-8PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City. A Blessing Service will be held Saturday at 10:30 AM at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 11AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Coral Site with Rev. Fr. Ronald Cyktor, the officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Francis Cemetery, Coral.
