Donna C. (Kephart) Jones

Donna Clare Kephart Jones, 79, of Homer City passed away Sunday August 13, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family. Donna was born July 18, 1938 to Dorsey and Mae Kephart in Sanborn, PA. Donna was employed at FMC in Homer City until her division closed. On June 23, 1956, she married Clair R. Jones and started a family. She was the mother of 4 boys and always said she needed eyes in the back of her head. She was a very loving wife, mother and grammy. Her boys always came first and she thought of her daughters-in-law as her daughters, always there to help them out. She always enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She was a great cook and pie baker. You never left her house hungry she was always trying to feed you something, whether it be ham bone pot pie, or one of her apple pies. We have so many wonderful memories of meals and conversations around the kitchen table. She enjoyed reading her books, watching CNN and going to the casinos gambling. We will miss her dearly and cherish our wonderful memories of her. Donna is survived by her sons Randy and his wife Teresa, Ronald and his wife Monica, all of Homer City and Roger and Sharon Barrett of Carmichaels, Daughter-in-law Christine Jones of Homer City. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jesse and wife Jeannine, and Jennifer, Greg, Lindsey and Matthew; and her great grandchildren, Preston, Aspen, Lee and Austin. Her sisters Gloria Lutz and husband Alan, Marion Gibson and brother Kenneth Kephart. Her loving dog and companion Lucy also survives her. Donna is preceded in death by her husband Clair R. Jones on August 16, 2015, her son Robin C. Jones on January 26, 2016, her parents Dorsey and Mae Kephart and her siblings Keith Kephart, Kirby Kephart, Kay Kephart, Jay Kephart, Bethel Kephart, Dorothy Kephart Gomez and Carol Jo Kephart Wardo. Friends will be received from 2 to 4and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Bethel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) of Indiana County, Medical Arts Building, Suite 3000, 850 Hospital Road, Indiana, PA 15701
