Edna H. (Hensell) Stivison, 97, of Homer City, passed away on November 12, 2025, at Heritage Grove in Indiana. She was born on December 13, 1927, in Homer City, to Glen and Maude (Seanor) Hensell.
She was a Lifelong member of Homer City United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Ideal Friendship Class. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), served as past president of the Homer City Women’s Club, and was involved with the Homer City Fire Ladies Auxiliary, Indiana VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and Homer City American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Additionally, she was a member of the Do-Si-Do Square Dance Club and volunteered at Indiana Hospital for over 30 years.
Edna is survived by her children, William Garness “Gar” (Cindy) Stivison, Glen (Janet) Stivison, Sr., and Connie Stivison. Grandchildren, Carey (Earl Berth) Stivison-Berth, William Stivison (Izzy Pettush), Benjamin (Brittanie) Stivison, Rebekah Messenger (Sam Zebley), Capt. Daniel (Katie) Messenger. Great-grandchildren, William “Blaze”, Andrew, McKenzie Grace, Stivison, Amelia Messenger, and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by Petey and Mr. Grey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Stivison; her grandson, Glen H. Stivison, Jr., who was killed in Afghanistan on January 15, 2009; her sister, Olive Lockard; and her beloved dog, Mattie.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City, from 12 PM until the time of the Funeral Service at 1 PM. Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
