Edward Bocz

Edward Bocz, 84, Lucernemines died Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Beacon Ridge Nursing Home. He was the son of the late Paul and Elizabeth (Baker) Bocz and was born October 19, 1928 in Prince George County, VA. Mr. Bocz was a member of the Red Barn Sportsman Club and the NRA. He was a Retired R&P Coal Miner. Edward is survived by his wife - Eleanor (Vresilovic); 3 children - Rebecca (Dennis) Shimko of Ohio; Edward Bocz Jr. of Carlisle; and Sally (Larry) Backus of New Alexandria. He was also survived by 7 grandchildren - Robert, Stephen and Andrew Pozik; Sarah, Joshua (Nicole) and Adam Shimko and Amber Bocz. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter - Mary Kathryn; brothers - Paul, George and Emil and Sisters - Elizabeth, Mary, Helen, Louise and Margaret. Friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City where a vigil will be recited Thursday. A Blessing Service will be held Friday at 9:30 AM at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Lucernemines Site with Rev. Fr. Ron Cyktor, the celebrant. Interment to follow in the church cemetery
