Edward (Banjo) Vargo

Edward (Banjo) Vargo, 85, Lucernemines died April 1, 2012 at his late residence. He was the son of the late John and Suzanne (Kundla) Vargo and was born February 5, 1927 in Red Barn. Banjo was a member of St. Mary's Holy Protection Byzantine Catholic Church, Homer City. He was also a member of VFW Post #1989, Indiana, Homer City American Legion Post #495, Red Bard Sportsman Club and Westinghouse Veterans. He was an Army Veteran having served in Italy during WWII. Banjo is survived by his wife Mary Jo (Dugan) Vargo; Seven children - Robert Vargo and wife Jo of Mountainside, NJ; Dennis Vargo and wife Nancy of Monroeville; Kristy (Kelly) and husband Ron Bellman of Lucernemines; Karen (Kelly) and husband Ron Pozik of Lucernemines; Mary Kay (Kelly) and husband Brian Mock of Indiana; Darlene Vargo of Guttenburg, NJ; Edward J. Vargo of Alpharetta , GA. Nine Grandchildren - Ryan and Bobby; Michelle and Melissa; Milea, Matthew and Jared; Alexis and Jason. Eight Great Grandchildren Special niece and nephew - Robert Molnar and Betty Ann Molnar; He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents he was preceded death by his grandson - Joshua McAdoo, first wife- Regina Klymer Vargo, brothers - John and Joseph Vargo and sisters - Susan Vargo Machuga, Mary Vargo Turzay, Katherine Vargo Rutkowski and Anna Vargo Molnar Friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City. Private family graveside services to be held at a later date at St. Bernard Cemetery, Indiana.
