Ellsworth "Red" Yankuskie, age 90, of Indiana, died September 29, 2014, at Indiana Regional Medical Center. Ellsworth was born on September 25, 1924 in Vintondale, PA and was the son of Leo Martin and Mary Ellen (Shank) Yankuskie. Mr. Yankuskie was a veteran of World War II and a lifetime member of the VFW. He worked many years as a Federal Mine Inspector and was a member of the UMWA. He was also an avid member of the Buttoneers Polka Band and also of the Country Squares Band. Ellsworth is survived by his wife Marie Virginia (Burkett) Yankuskie. He is also survived by one daughter Rose Marie and husband Ralph Gromley, of Burlison, TN and two sons Martin Leo Yankuskie and wife Beth Ann, of Homer City and Matthew Paul Yankuskie and wife Connie Ponce, of Hobbs, New Mexico. Ellsworth is survived by his sister Frances Armstrong, of Ernest and his brother Casper Yankuskie and wife Dora, of Tunnelton, PA. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister Stella Kislak and brothers John and Edward Yankuskie. Friends will be received Wednesday, October 1, 2014 from 5-8PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Inc, Homer City. A blessing service will be held Thursday at 10AM at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Lucernemines Site with Rev. Father Ron Cyktor, the celebrant. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
