Frederick M. Schmidt

Frederick M. Schmidt, 80, Indiana formerly of Coral died December 2, 2013 at Allegheny General Hospital. He was the son of the late Michael N. and Elizabeth (Downing) Schmidt and was born May 4, 1933 in Pittsburgh. He was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd and the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Schmidt was an US Army Veteran in the 82nd Airborne and he was retired from Season-all and the Train Station in Latrobe. Frederick is survived by his four children, Michael (Lisa) Schmidt of Homer City; Mark (Karen) Schmidt of Coral; Monica (Len) Wheeler of Indiana and Marie (Jason) Buggey of Indiana; grandchildren, Paul, Christina, Luke, Anne, Elisabeth, Nicholas, Benjamin, Alexandria and Sarah Schmidt; Ashley and Emily Schmidt, Erica and Brock Wheeler and Julia, Morgan, Faith and Maggie Buggey; great grandson, Mason Schmidt. He is also survived by his brother, Richard (June) Schmidt of Blacksburg, VA and his sisters, Rose (Egon) Klatt of Mt. Lebanon and Maryanne Slafka of Elizabeth, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Anne Mae (Buckshaw) Schmidt and his brother, Thomas Schmidt. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City. A Blessing Service will be held at 9:00 AM at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Indiana. Interment to Follow in the St. Francis Cemetery, Coral.
