Gene Fletcher

Gene Fletcher, 87, Homer City died January 15, 2016 at Beacon Ridge Nursing Home. He was the son of the late Lee Philip and Eva (McDial) Fletcher and was born September 24, 1928 in Coral, PA. He was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church, Homer City, the Croatian Fraternal Union and he loved hunting. Mr. Fletcher was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Fan and thoroughly enjoyed talking baseball history. He was employed by FMC Corporation for over 40 years. He is survived by his wife Jane (Kercel) Fletcher; three sons, David Fletcher and wife Laurie, Aliquippa; Greg Fletcher and wife Debra, Homer City; Philip Fletcher, Jasper, Alabama; two daughters, Cynthia Fletcher, NYC, New York; and Barbara Fletcher, Homer City. He is also survived by a granddaughter, Mary Beth Fletcher, Homer City and one brother, Toby Fletcher, South Carolina. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Jack Fletcher, brothers, Andy and Frank Fletcher; sisters, Virginia Apryasz, Katherine Teddy and Rebecca Schottenheimer. Friends will be recieved Sunday from 1-5 PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City and Monday from 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM at the Hope Lutheran Church, Homer City with Rev. Stephen Bond, officiating. Internment to follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.
