George M. Barney

George M. Barney, 81, Homer City died Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville, PA. He was the son of the late George Sr. and Barbara (Percic) Barney and was born December 10, 1933 in Jacksonville, PA. He was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Redbarn Sportsman's Club and the Carpenters Union Local #1419. George enjoyed watching sporting events. Before his retirement he was employed by L&D Construction. George is survived by three children, Richard Barney and Diane Doyle both of Homer City and Terry and husband Ron Kent of Hamilton, PA. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Matthew Barney and wife Jennifer; Nathan Barney and Caleb Thomas and wife Marina; two great grandchildren, Jeremy Thomas and Carter Barney. His loving companion, Chic Scott also survives him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Dolores in 1998. Friends will be received Saturday from 10 AM until time of service at 1 PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City with Rev. Father Robert Washko, officiating. Interment to follow in the St. Louis Cemetery.
