Harriet Cresson

Harriet A. Cresson, 94, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2017. She had recently moved to the Communities at Indian Haven. She was born in Blairsville, PA to Lloyd Ira Paynter and Louise Bennett Reed among nine brothers and sisters. Most of her adult life, Harriet lived in Homer City. Harriet is profoundly missed by her sons, Jon (Chris) and Fred (Ron) as well as grandchildren, Patrick Ferguson, (Vickie) and Yvonne Trageser (Roy) and three great grandchildren, Benjamin Ferguson, Michael Gates, and David Gates. Her one sister Jean Paynter Fairman survives her. Harriet always lived her life focused on family and close friends. Contact with family, friends, and relatives remained constant throughout her life. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred, her daughter, Phyllis as well as her grandson, Stephen. She was also predeceased by her close friend Gladys Jean Rowe. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family on Saturday, January 7th from 5:00 until 7:00 and on Sunday from 12 until time of service at 1:00 at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery Indiana, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers please consider a contribution to Visiting Nurses of Indiana (VNA).
