Jacob Thomas Shannon

Jacob Thomas Shannon, age 25, of Homer City went to be with his Savior on Friday, January 13, 2017. Jacob was born on August 5, 1991 in Altus, Oklahoma to Brian and Patty (Rager) Shannon. Jacob attended Homer Center High School, graduating in 2009. He had also attended IUP. Jacob was passionate about sports, especially football. He had played football at Homer Center from a young age through high school. In high school he discovered his passion for writing which eventually, along with the love for music, spurred him to writing songs. He was very talented and loved to entertain his friends with his awesome rapping abilities. Jacob was a kind, loving intelligent young man who touched many lives with his awesome personality. He enjoyed spending time at Gram and Pap Shannons with family and with friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Jacob is survived by his parents; two brothers, Brody Shannon, Pittsburgh and Bayly Shannon, Texas. He is also survived by his paternal grandparents, Thomas and Geneva Shannon, Homer City and maternal grandmother, Helen Rager, Hillsdale. Several aunts and uncles, many cousins and numerous friends. Jacob was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Donald Rager. Friends will be received Wednesday from 3-7 PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City where services will be held at 7:00 PM at the funeral home with Dr. John Kuehn, officiating. My chains are gone - Ive been set free
