James Sutter

James Sutter, 80, passed away September 10, 2026, at Indiana Regional Medical Center. Jim was born September 4, 1946, in Uniontown, and was the son of the late Robert and Mildred Sutter.

James was a 1964 graduate of Laura Lamar High School and attended Point Park College for two years. He worked for PennDOT for 30 years before retiring. He also owned and operated Jim’s Train Shop for 30 years.

James was a member of the H.C.U.P. Church and the Homer City American Legion Post #493. He enjoyed spending time with the guys over his morning coffee and loved to fish, whether it was raining or snowing. A huge Wildcat fan, James enjoyed football and especially basketball.

James is survived by, Peggy, his loving wife of 57 years; his brother-in-law, Dan Weir and his wife Betty Jean; and special friends, Dennis, Mark, Chrissy, and Kelly.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to H.C.U.P. Church.

The family would like to thank the EMS, Ambulance and the staff at Indiana Regional Medical Center.

Friends will be received Tuesday from 2-4PM at Bowser Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Homer City where funeral services will be held at 4PM at the funeral home. Interment to follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.
