John H. McCully

John H. McCully, 84, Brush Valley died December 23, 2016 at his residence. He was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Pitzel) McCully and was born April 10, 1932 in Brush Valley. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Brush Valley, the VFW Post #1989, Indiana and a lifetime member of the Brush Valley Fire Department where he had recently received the Fireman of the Year award for 2016. John was employed by Syntron, and was also employed by Brush Valley Township for several years. He was a member of the United States Army and was very proud of his service to his country. He is survived by four children, John H. McCully, Homer City, Richard A. McCully, Homer City, Leslie J. Bellman, Brush Valley and Michael S. McCully; 20 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. John is also survived by special friends Al and Connie Pluchinsky. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Martha R. (McCoy) McCully, two daughters, Virginia E. Brown and Melinda J. Ault and a son, Gregory L. McCully. Friends will be received Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 10 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Richard Markle, officiating. Interment to follow in the Brush Valley Cemetery. Graveside Military Services will be conducted by the VFW Post #1829 and the American Legion Post #0407, both of Blairsville.
