John 'JR' Reed

John JR Reed, 62 of Coral, was called home to the Lord on Monday, December 14, 2015. Born on September 9, 1953, he was the son of Joseph and Lena (Sacco) Reed of Indiana, PA and a 1972 graduate of Homer-Center High School. JR worked for PennDOT, the R&P Coal Company, and Specialty Tires of America. He was a member of Our Lady of Assumption parish in Coral, PA where he served as an Eucharistic minister and helped with the youth group. His happiest times were spent with family and his smile and laugh will be missed. He is survived by wife Marianna (Vilcek) Reed of Coral, PA; daughter Julianne Miller and husband Gary of Blairsville, PA; daughter Stephanie Reed of Coral, PA; brothers Joseph Reed and wife Joyce of White Oak, PA, Tom Reed of Brush Valley, PA, and Bob Reed of Meadville, PA. JR was also very close to his wifes family which includes: Ronald Vilcek of Indiana, PA; John Vilcek and wife Maureen of Blairsville, PA; Marilyn sabota and husband George Corky of Bradenville, PA; Rosemary Perry and husband Fred of Coral, PA; Patricia Greenwald and husband Dave of Tollesboro, KY; Tracy Galasso and husband Frank of Homer City, PA and Lisa (Roschella) Vilcek. He is also survived as well by numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. He was proceeded in death by his parents, special uncle and aunt Loius and Alba Sacco, Father-in-law Gusty Vilcek, mother-in-law Rose Vilcek, and brother-in-law August Goose Vilcek. Friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City. A Blessing Service will be held Friday at 9:30 A.M. at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Assumption parish, Coral Site with Rev. Fr. Ron Cytor, celebrant and interment to follow in the St. Francis Cemetery, Coral, PA.
