Joseph J. ('Big Joe') Ando, Jr.

Ando, Joseph J., Jr. Big Joe, 56, of Cardiff, passed away June 7, 2017 at Cambria Care Center. He was born August 8, 1960 in Colver. Son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Morey) Ando, Sr. He is Survived by his brother James Ando, Cardiff; Sisters Janet (Charles) Edminston, Ebensburg; Susan (Donavan) Jones, Lancaster. Nephews and niece Charles, Jr., Thomas and Allison Edminston. Joe was an avid Pirates and Steelers fan, and enjoyed watching ball games on the porch with his good friend Wayne Worthington. In his younger days he could always be found on the Little Juniata River fishing for brown trout. Big Joe could always be counted on when ever there was heavy lifting to be done. He worked in various places in Cambria, Blair, and Indiana Counties. He was a lifetime member of the North American Hunting Club. Friends will be received Thursday, from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Bowser Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
