Joshua Andrew Kardell

December 27, 2002 — July 13, 2026

Indiana

Joshua Andrew (Josh) Kardell – our kind, smart, funny son, brother, nephew and

friend – passed away Monday, July 13, 2026, at his home in Indiana.

The son of John Kardell and Julie Kardell Forshee, Josh was born December 27,

2002, at Indiana Hospital. He was a man of many interests, including Spanish

language and culture, architecture, and city planning, to name a few. If you knew

Josh, though, you’d know that you often had to coax him to tell you about his

favorite things, including the best trip he ever took (to Spain, big surprise).

He loved family vacations, board games, and quietly observing life around him.

Behind his gentle smile was a dry wit that would surprise you every time he let

you see it. Wherever you are now, Josh, we hope everyone is zipping around with

you on e-bikes, wearing T-shirts with the kind of sayings that have you grinning.

Josh is survived by his father, John, and partner Jennifer Gonda-English of

Indiana and his mother, Julie, and husband Adam Forshee of Indiana. He is also

survived by his brothers, Justin Kardell and Jacob Kardell and partner Hailey

Drennen of Indiana; his stepsister, Lilly English, and partner Nathan Skalican of

Indiana; and his stepbrothers, Addison, Griffin, Camden, and Tyson Forshee, all of

Kittanning. He is further survived by his maternal grandmother, Bonnie “Nana”

Spencer, of Springdale; his uncle, Joseph Tozzi Jr., of Ocean City, Maryland, and his

great uncle and aunt, Edward and Teresa Kardell of Greensburg. Preceding Josh

in death was his paternal grandmother, Edna Kardell, of Turtle Creek.

Josh will be remembered by his family and friends at a gathering to be held at a

later date. Arrangements are being handled by Bowser Funeral Home and

Cremation Services, Homer City.
