Ken Kline Snyder

Kenneth Kline Snyder Sr., 85, of Homer City died October 22, 2013 at his home. He was born on October 25, 1927 in Homer City and was the son of Archie and Florence McKay Snyder. Kenneth was a member of the Homer City United Methodist Church, the Homer City Historical Society, and a lifetime member of the Homer City Fire Company. He was also the past Commander-in-chief of the Coudersport Consistory, member of the 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, and Past Worshipful Master of the Masonic Blue Lodge-Indiana Franklin Lodge 313. Kenneth also served in the United States Marine Corp. Kenneth was a retired teacher at the Indiana County VoTech School. Prior to that, he was a self-employed electrical contractor for 30 years. He was a loyal friend and loved spending time at the cottage on the lake in Angliers, Quebec, Canada. A visit did not go by without a memory being shared of his time in Canada. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. His volunteer services with the egg making project at the Homer City United Methodist Church were instrumental to its success. He is survived by wife Betty Lou (Kinter) Snyder of 63 years and by six children; Kenneth and wife Susan Snyder, Homer City, Vickie and husband Dennis LaComba, Terre Haute, IN, James and wife Joyce Snyder, Smithfield, VA, Brad and wife Becky Snyder, Indiana, Robin and husband Phillip Pitzerell, Indiana, and Debbie and husband David Bork Sr., Homer City. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren Melissa Moore, Todd LaComba, Stephanie Armstrong, Jennifer Snyder, Jill LaComba, Jimmy Snyder, Kristen Terwilliger, David Bork Jr., Kenny Snyder, Rachelle Malcolm, Megan Wiley, Jessica Borowitz, and Hunter Pitzerell and 8 great grandchildren. Kenneth is preceded in death by parents, and sister Betty Smith. Friends will be received Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the C. Fredrick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City. A Masonic Service will be held at 6:00p.m. Friday. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday at 11:00 at the funeral home with the Rev. Joseph Stains and Rev. Paul Morris, officiating. Interment to follow at a later day in the Oakland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Villages of Pennsylvania-office of Gift Planning, 1 Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, Pa 17022.
