Linda Ruth Nicholson

Linda Ruth Nicholson, age 79, of Homer City, died December 16, 2016. Linda was born on March 19, 1937 in Cokeville Pa. and was the daughter of Clyde and Mae Brubaker Sheppard. Linda spent most of her life in the Blairsville area working as a secretary for Penn Rose plumbing and heating and was also employed by Blairsville Machine Company. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Homer City Pa. She was very close to her family and friends and enjoyed being with them for any occasion. The last year of her life was spent at the Lynn Haven nursing home in Blacklick Pa, where she was well cared for. She will be dearly missed by family and friends. Linda is survived by one son Danny Cardellino and daughter in law Terri Cardellino and one daughter Andrea Durea Lewis and son in law Russell Lewis of Blairsville. She is also survived by one sister Shirley Miller,Joilet, IL, and one brother James Abbatti of Saltsburg. Linda is survived by three grandchildren Michael, Ashley and Brandon Cardellino of Blairsville and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by parents, sister Lois Wise of Indiana, sister Elizabeth Jane Allison of Hillside, Pa, and husband George Nicholson in 2002. Friends will be received Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the C. Frederick Bowser funeral home, Homer City. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 am at the funeral home with Pastor Chuck Lockard, officiating. Interment to follow in the Blairsville Cemetery.
