Mary R. (Ream) Obush, 90, Homer City, passed away May 19, 2018 at the Communities of Indian Haven. She was born Nov. 16, 1927 in Glasgow. Daughter of the late Harry C. and Celia (Britton) Ream. She was preceded in death by her husband John Obush, brothers Vince, Harold, Theodore, Marlin, and George. Mary is survived by daughters Leslie Martin (Jim Martin); Terri (Bob) Elias, Indiana, Pa; Cathy (Bill) Friel, Indiana, Pa; Carol (Phillip) Rickard, Mundy's Corner. Grandsons JJ Martin (Samantha New) and Josh Martin; Andrew (Nicole) Rickard and Steven Rickard. Sister Chloe Knight, Chestertown, Md. Sister-in-law Lois Ream, Mount Joy. She was a member of Homer City United Presbyterian Church, where she was an Elder and a Deacon, member of the Joraii Class, sang in the choir, and taught Sunday School. Mary was a Girl Scout Leader and member of the Homer City Senior Citizens. She was employed by the Homer City School District for 23 years where she was the Secretary to the Principle. Along with her husband John she was an avid Polka music fan and took bus trips to many polka festivals. Family and friends will be received at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City, on Tuesday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM and on Wednesday from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11 AM at the Homer City United PresbyterianChurch. Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer Assoc. Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, 1100 Liberty Ave., Site E201, Pittsburgh, Pa 15222 or the Homer City United Presbyterian Church, Sanctuary Fund, 40 East Elm St. Homer City, Pa 15748.
