Mary Elizabeth Rokosky, age 63, passed away peacefully at UPMC Shadyside hospital in Pittsburgh, surrounded by her family on November 1, 2015. She was born on February 24, 1952 in Indiana, Pennsylvania, to Richard and Bernice (Poole) Tanner. She graduated from Homer Center High School in 1970. On April 29, 1972 she married William (Bill) Rokosky. Together, they had one wonderful son, Eric. She started working for S&T Bank as a Teller in 1986 and continued on with the bank for nearly 30 years. She was a hard-working and dedicated employee who always put others needs first, both customer and fellow staff member alike. Mary was strong in heart and in faith; which was witnessed by everyone who knew her, especially her United Methodist Church family in Homer City. She served in many capacities as a lifetime member of the church to include teaching Sunday school and serving on the church council, memorial committee, flower committee, and shepherds team. She was always available with a sympathetic ear and a helping hand. Her interests included taking care of her home and family; serving her local community; shopping with her mother and friends; and taking pictures. She loved capturing memories for people and her favorite subjects were her grandchildren; who often heard, Wait, just one more. She had a beautiful, kind-hearted soul that could not be matched. She didnt know a stranger and was willing to help anyone who needed it. She loved her family and friends fiercely and her legacy will live on in the smiles and stories of those she leaves behind. She is survived by her mother, Babe Tanner; a brother, Larry Tanner and his wife Shirley; her husband, Bill; her son, Eric and his wife Kelly; her grandchildren, Garrett and Caleb; two nephews Kevin Tanner and his wife Ellen and Craig Tanner; two grand-nephews Ethan and Sean; a grand-niece Sydney; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Tanner.
