Michael McHenry

Michael McHenry, 58, Homer City died August 24, 2019 at UPMC Presbyterian.  He was the beloved son of Margaret (Scribe) and James McHenry and was born April 15, 1961 in Indiana, PA.

Michael was a Homer Center High School graduate and attended Greensburg Institute of Technology.  He was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish and was employed by the Homer City American Legion Post #493.

Michael belonged to various social and sporting clubs including, Sons of the American Legion, Red Barn Sportsman Club, Tide Sportsmen’s Club, Coral Graceton Sportsman Club, Club Savoy and the Yellow Creek Trout Club.

Michael was a great fisherman and along with fishing, he enjoyed hunting and just being in the outdoors.  He also enjoyed playing shuffleboard, watching movies, playing with his cat, Jeeves and was involved in numerous dart leagues.

Michael is survived by his mother, Homer City; siblings, Joseph McHenry, Morrison, CO; Anne Marie (Jerome) Gebhardt, Pittsburgh; Mary (John) Baird, Russell, KY and Beth McHenry.

He is also survived by his his fiancé, Kathy Lantzy, Homer City; his nephew, Michael Baird and his niece, Sarah Baird.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Friends will be received Wednesday from 4-8 PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City.  A Blessing Service will be held Thursday at 9:30 AM at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Coral Site. Internment in the church cemetery.
