Michael P. Smidga

Smidga, Michael P., Sr., Johnstown, passed away Dec. 6, 2016 at home. Born July 13, 1957 in Johnstown. Son of the late William J. and Frances (Chiappini) Smidga. Preceded in death by sisters Patricia McCormick and Gina Talerico. Surviving are his children Malinda Smidga (Chistopher) and Michael Smidga, Jr. (Heather), all of Pittsburgh, and their sister Megan Stranford, Ligonier. Grandchildren Rowan Delamarter and Terra Thomas. Brother of Richard (Gerogeanne) Smidga, Ohio; Mary Ann Litzinger, Ebenesburg; Paula (Tom) McCain, Oil City; Lisa (Doug) Haney, Nanty Glo, whom he loved dearly. Numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Member of St. Marys Church, Nanty Glo. Michael was an avid fisherman. He was a kind, caring, and generous man, and was dedicated to his family. Being the kind of man he was, Mike would have thanked all his friends and family for their love and support throughout his life. His fondest memories were spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandson Rowan and great niece and nephew Jacob and Alyssa Bumberger. Family and friends will be received at Bowser Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of services at 4:00 P.M. Intermit will be with his parents at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made Mikes Family.
