Michael "Mike" L Yakimovich

Mike died Saturday, November 4, 2023, at home with his family by his side. Mike was the son of Harry and Ann Yakimovich and was born on January 21st, 1942 in Lucerne Mines PA.

Mike was a graduate of Laura Lamar High School, class of 1960. He was the Co-owner, with his wife, of Summit Market on Penn View and Lindas Snack Bar until their retirement after 37 years. At Jonnet Flea Market, Mike enjoyed his “old men’s club” who visited with him on Sundays. He was injured in 1972 when he became a double amputee. He was a fighter. He always found a way to do what he wanted. He rode Segway, horses, and snowmobiles.  He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and was so proud of his last Buck. He always said, “he never met a stranger, that they were friends that he never met yet”.

Mike is survived by his wife, Linda, and his daughter, Karen.  He is also survived by his sister, Patricia Ferreira, and niece, Lisa St. Sauveur. He is also survived by his dear friends, Patty and Terry Harris and Michael and Julie Knupp and many cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James, his sister-in-law, Sandy, and his brother-in-law, Ray Ferreira.

Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 3-8 PM at Bowser Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Homer City.  A funeral Service will be held Wednesday at 10 AM at the funeral home. Interment to follow in the Grandview Cemetery Johnstown.
