Norbert "Norb" Kuta, age 86, Graceton died Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Latrobe Select Specialty Rehabilitation Center, Latrobe. He was the son of the late Peter and Valeria (Rudjenski) Kuta and was born June 9, 1929 in Clymer, PA. Mr. Kuta was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish and a 1947 graduate of Laura Lamar High School. He was involved in many organizations and activities in his life, which included the Homer City American Legion Post # 493, VFW Indiana, PA and a former member of the Graceton-Coral Sportsmen's Club, Red Barn Sportsmen's Club and the Homer City Boosters. He was an avid sports enthusiast, which included, bowling, baseball, football and basketball. He especially enjoyed watching all Pittsburgh sporting events. He played as well as coached many years of Homer City youth sports. Later in his life he took great pride in gardening. Norb was a veteran of the Korean War era and served his country in Germany. He was previously employed and retired from Westinghouse Specialty Metals Division in Blairsville. Mr. Kuta was survived by his wife Helen (Repka) Kuta, Graceton; three sons, Norbert D. and friend Sandra Getty, Pittsburgh, PA; Peter and wife Cherie Kuta, Mechanicsburg, PA and Michael and wife Kara Kuta, Rockledge, FL; one daughter, AnnMarie and husband Jerry Ober, Homer City. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Jacob & Sarah Kuta; Christopher & Evan Ober and Zachary Kuta; one brother, Irvin & wife Joanne Kuta, Homer City and one sister, Clara Uhron, Indiana. Many nieces and nephews also survive him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bernard "Blan" Kuta and Edward Kuta and three sisters, Sylvia Rayko, Priscilla Mistretta and Jenny Danko and his faithful black Lab, Bo. Friends will be received Wednesday from 4-8 PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City. The Homer City American Legion will be conducting Military Services Thursday at 9:15AM, followed by a Blessing Service at 9:30AM at the funeral home. A Mass will be held at 10AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Coral Site with the Rev. Father Ron Cyktor, the Celebrant. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
