Patricia Helman

Patricia (Dies) Helman, 63, of Homer City passed away Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017 at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Born March 24, 1953 in Tearing Run and was the daughter of Lester and Dorothy (Lichenfels) Dies. She married Mike Helman 47 years ago on August 20, 1969 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Indiana, PA. Mike has been a very loving husband and Caretaker. Patricia was very thankful for her husband. Patricia worked at the Homer City Pharmacy for 7 years and Indiana Hospital for 23 years until retirement. She was a avid reader and loved animals especially her cat Turk whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband Mike, son Tom (Tammy) Helman and granddaughters Megan and Maura of Monroeville, PA and daughter Marcy (Jeff) Carnahan and granddaughter Bree of Penn Run, PA. She is also survived by sisters Nilene Dies of Indiana, PA and Janet (George) Zayac of Homer City, PA.; father-in-law Pete Patterson, sister-in-law Tammy (Ed) Wolko, brother-in-law Dan Helman and Bob (Betty) Patterson, all of Homer City. And many nieces and nephews including a very special niece and friend Tracy Metalla. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Lester Jr., Richard, Dean and Donald Dies and sisters Doris, Helen, Ruby, Arlene, Maxine and infant Shirley. Friends will be received Friday from 4-6 PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City. Services will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. R. A Wallace officiating. Interment to follow at Oakland Cemetery.
