Raymond K. Balls, 96, Lucernemines died November 5, 2019 at his late residence. He was born November 6, 1922 in Frostburg and was the son of the late Bert and Christina (Anderson) Balls.
Raymond is a member of the Homer City Nazarene Church, Homer City American Legion, Indiana VFW and the United Mine Workers. He was a WWII Veteran and a Coal Miner for 47 years where he worked for 47 years.
He is survived by four daughters and two sons, Wanda Priest, Lucernemines; Christine Balls, Lucernemines; Doris Peiffer, Indiana; Kenneth Balls, Export; Mary Yosurack and husband Pete; Raymond and wife Kathy, Hanover Twp; nine grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Roy Balls, Homer City and Kenneth Balls, Elcajan, CA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Mary Theophane Balls, his loving wife of 69 years, son John Balls, and daughter, Ethel Springer, four granddaughters and one grandson, Kim Henning, Amy Springer, Mikayla, Kelsey and Michael Balls, and one sister Evelyn Holben.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Homer, Homer City. Funeral Services will be held Friday, 11 AM at the Homer City Church of the Nazarene. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana. Graveside military rites will be held.
