Rebecca E. (Hranitz) Ashford

Rebecca E. (Hranitz) Ashford, 70, Level Green, PA formerly of Homer City died June 13, 2014 at Forbes Regional Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was the daughter of the late John and Ann (Kundla) Hranitz and was born June 15, 1943 in Homer City. Rebecca loved her flower garden and was a member of PETA. She was a graduate of Laura Lamar High School and the University of Pittsburgh. Rebecca is survived by her husband, Joseph Ashford; son Richard Ashford, both of Level Green; sister, Jo Ann (Russell) Baker of Export; brother, Dr. Richard (Dolores) Hranitz of Danville, PA; two Goddaughters, Rebecca Jo Baker and Larissa (Hranitz) Simon; nephew, Dr. John Hranitz; niece, Vanessa Hranitz. She was also survived by her cousins, Joanie (Rudy) Rura, Joey (Sherry) Kotzur, Nick (Arlene) Kotzur, Johnny Hranec, Steven (Beverly)Kundla, Georgene Kundla Coulter, Susan Kundla Radage. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her uncle, Very Reverend Stephen Kundla and her aunts Mary Kotzur and Sue (Mike) Mihalko Friends will be received Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the C. Frederick Bowser funeral home, Homer City where a Parastas will be held at 7PM. A Panachida will be held Wednesday at 10 AM at the funeral home with Rev Father Tony Joseph, officiating. Internment to follow in the Oakland cemetery.
