Richard R. Sadowski, beloved father, grandfather, and brother, formerly of Homer City, died at the age of 81, on Thursday April 7, 2016 in Phoenix AZ, where he spent his final years. He was the son of the late John Stanislaus & Genevieve Gertrude Sadowski. Richard was the quintessential hard working family man. He found his lifes joy in spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman. He was passionate about gardening zucchini and tomatoes being his prized crops. He loved hunting, fishing, and taking daily walks on the HoodleBug Trail in Homer City. He formerly belonged to Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, Lucerne site, and was involved with the Knights of Columbus in Sun Lakes AZ. He also served as a military police officer in the US Army. He worked for the US Postal Service in Indiana PA up until his retirement. He is survived by his children Laura Durant of Phoenix AZ, Joyce Alexis (David) Scott of Cleveland, OH, David (Christina) Sadowski of Phoenix AZ and three grandchildren, Dante Scott, Breanna and Elizabeth Sadowski. Surviving siblingsbrother Edmund (Ellie) Sadowski, Doylestown PA, sisters Lorraine Sadowski, Indiana PA and Trudy (Dennis) Lazor, Coral PA. In addition to his parents, she was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann Sadowski. Friends will be received, Sunday from 2-5 PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City. A Blessing Service will be held 9:15 AM at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass Monday at 9:45 at Our Lady of of the Assumption Parish, Lucernemine Site with Father Robert Washko, the Celebrant. Contributions may be made to Neighbors Who Care (neighborswhocare.com). this association assists the homebound, disabled, and frail elderly in Sun Lakes AZ.
