Robert Gene McConnell

Robert Gene McConnell, 60, Black Lick was sent home to the Lord Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Shadyside Hospital. He was the son of the late William Roy and Jeanne Irene (McIntire) McConnell Sr. and was born October 26, 1956 in North Tonawanda, NY. Robert enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family and classic cars. He was a very loving, generous man who ldevoted his free time to his family. Before his retirement, Robert was a proprietor and owner and operator of McConnells Auto Repair. He was also a member of the United Mine Workers. He is survived by his wife, Debora Ann,; two daughters, Amanda (Jason) Cline, Blairsville; Holly Lynn (Richard JR) Ashbaugh, Blairsville; five grandchildren, Eden McConnell, Madison Jones, Raven Jones, Morgan Ashbaugh and Jordan Cline and step granddaughter, Sydney Cline. He is also survived by his sisters, Brenda (Robert Sr.) Pizer, and Marlene (Wilbur) Stone, and a brother, William (Judy) McConnell Sr., all of Black Lick. Friends will be received Wednesday, 2-4 and 6-8PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday at 11 AM at the funeral home with Pastor David Kimball, officiating. Interment to follow in the Blairsville Cemetery.
