Ronald Allan Wallace, 90, died on the 3rd of November, 2026 at St. Andrews Village in Indiana PA. He was preceded in death by his parents Ramsey and Susie (McElwain) Wallace, his first wife Betty Jean (Rehnke) Wallace, his second wife Lillian Ruth (Long Shaffer) Wallace and his five brothers: Charles, Ramsey, Glenn, James, and Richard Wallace. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Cynthia and Diego Cuartas, his son David Wallace, his daughter and son-in-law Judith and Steven Gough, by his son and daughter-in-law Daniel and Kyle (McMahon) Wallace, his step-son and daughter-in-law Kenneth Shaffer and Michelle Danoff as well as by five grandchildren: Tabatha (Martinez) Green, Alexander Gough, Juliette Gough, Kelsey Wallace, and Avery Wallace.
He was born on January 4, 1936, in McCullough, PA, and lived most of his early life outside of Harrison City, PA. After graduating from Penn Trafford High School in 1953, he attended St. Paul Bible College in St. Paul MN where he met Betty Rehnke. The two were married in Milbank, SD on June 1, 1957. He served for seven years as the pastor of a small church in Wildrose, ND, where his four children were born.
In 1965, the family moved to Homer City, PA, when he became the pastor of the small Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA) Church on Juniper Street. In 1974, he stood for the first time as pastor of the new church building in the Red Barn area of Homer City—a building he willed into existence by his vision, determination, and hard work.
He was married to Betty for 36 years, and he supported her through an 8-year battle with cancer. After her death, he married Lillian Long Shaffer in 1994 and at the time of her death they had been married for 32 years.
After serving for 36 years, he retired as pastor of the Homer City C&MA church in 2001, although he continued to serve as pastor emeritus and also continued his many years of part-time work at the Bowser Funeral Home. In 2016, he and Lil moved from their home in Coral, PA, to St. Andrews Village in Indiana, PA, where he lived until the time of his death.
In retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family–particularly his grandchildren, doing jigsaw puzzles, and playing dominoes and cards with family and friends. In his heart, he was a pastor–the one who made it a point to learn the names of every new person who came to the church, who week after week checked admissions to the hospital, and who sat by many beds offering comfort before he would lower his head and begin a prayer that always started with “Our heavenly father.”
A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Homer City, PA, with a funeral service at 11:00 AM and burial at the Oakland Cemetery immediately following the service.
