June 16, 1943 — July 17, 2015

Rose Ann M. Rura, 72, of Coral, PA passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 17, 2015 at Indiana Regional Medical Center. The daughter of Sam J. Rura and Margaret (Yoschak) Rura, she was born June 16, 1943 in Indiana, PA Rose Ann was a very proud graduate of Homer City's Laura Lamar High School, Class of 1961. She also graduated from Robert Morris Business College. Her secretarial career began at Robert Shaw Controls in Indiana, PA. After a short time, she began 42 years of employment at Blairsville Westinghouse Specialty Metals Plant, the last 20 of which she spent as the Plant Managers Assistant. It was a rewarding and friendship filled experience for her. An active member of the Catholic faith, Rose Ann was a very young member and officer of Court Queen of May Catholic Daughters of America. She held various offices in the Greensburg Diocesan Council of Catholic Women and was also involved with the fraternal organization, the First Catholic Slovak Union (Jednota) Branch #484, Graceton, PA, and enjoyed the conventions and meetings she regularly attended. Rose Ann's Slovak heritage was very important to her. She was devoted to St. Francis Catholic Church and now to Our Lady of the Assumption Parish. Rose Ann was an avid reader and enthusiastic traveler. She started traveling overseas in the mid 1960's, and was always interested in new and exciting parts of the world. Her kindness and generosity to all who knew her held no boundaries. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Rose Ann is survived by her sister, Monica Rura of Coral, PA; uncle Wayne Allshouse and wife Joan of Indiana, PA; dear cousins, Mary Kay and Joe Rura of Homer City, PA and Dennis and Nancy Ruda of Blairsville, PA and Michael Yoschak of Indiana, PA. Numerous cousins and friends complimented her very full and active life. She was preceded in death by her parents and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends will be received at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City on Monday from 6-8 PM where a vigil service will be held at 8PM. Friends will also be received Tuesday from 3-8PM at the funeral home. A Blessing Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM, which will be con celebrated by Msgr. Larry Kiniry and Rev. Fr. Ron Cyktor at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Coral Site. Entombment will take place at St. Bernard's Mausoleum in Indiana, PA.
