Sean Sweithelm

It is with heavy hearts and sorrow that we announce that Sean R. Sweithelm, 35, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family and friends after his courageous battle with brain cancer. Sean was born on July 3, 1990 in Pittsburgh PA and lived his entire life in Indiana, PA. Preceeded in death by his father Ralph Sweithelm III, he is survived by his mother, Theresa (Magee), sister Megan Smith (Brett) Huntington Beach, CA, brother Ryan (Brittany Spaulding, fiance) Leesburg, VA, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Throughout his incredible journey Sean fought with determination and grace, inspiring everyone that knew him. Sean was a caddie at Laurel Valley Golf Club for over ten years and it was one of his favorite places to be. Anyone that has ever golfed with Sean would know that golf was his true passion for which he received many accolades. One of Sean’s greatest achievements was winning the individual PSAC golf championship in 2010. He achieved professional golf status in 2019. Sean was a life-long member at the Indiana Country Club, where he was a club champion in 2018 and played many rounds of golf with family and friends.  Like his father, Sean had a great sense of humor and was quickly embraced and loved by everyone he met. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Indiana High School Golf Boosters c/o Indiana High School ATT: Athletic Office or a brain cancer research organization of your choice. A memorial will be held for Sean at a later date.
