Sophie (Harvey) Magalich

Sophie Magalich, 87, Indiana died Friday, March 08, 2013 at Sunny Hill Personal Care Home. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Theodora Harvey and was born September 19, 1925 in Coal Run, PA. Mrs. Magalich was a member of SS Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, Homer City and also a member of the Ladies Altar Society. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed bowling and going to casinos. Sophie was an animal lover. She was employed by Federal Laboratories before her retirement. Mrs. Magalich is survived by three children - Diane and her husband Frank Betz of North Huntingdon, PA; David Magalich and his wife Lucy of Lucernemines and Andrea and her husband Larry Wannett of Indiana. She is also survived by one grandson - Jason Magalich and his wife DeAnna of Houston, TX and two sisters - Mary Wisniewski of Maryland and Alice Prato of Homer City. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband -John in 1996 and her brothers - Metro, Mike, John and Pete Harvey and her sister Helen Urchek. Friends will be received Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City where a Funeral Service will be recited at 6PM Sunday. A Panachida will be held Monday at 9:30AM followed by Divine Liturgy at 10 AM at SS Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, Homer City with Father Matthew W. Conjelko, the Celebrant. Interment to follow in the Oakland Cemetery, Indiana. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the SS Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, Homer City.
