Steve Pavelchick, 93, of Brush Valley, PA, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, reuniting with those who had gone before him at Scenery Hill Rehabilitation Center. Born August 3, 1932, in Josephine, PA, he was the son of Andrew and Julia Pavelchick.
Steve proudly served his country as a Korean War veteran and worked for the B&O/Chessie System/B&P Railroad for more than 45 years before retiring to enjoy all that life had to offer.
He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. His passions were camping, fishing, hunting, helping anyone in need, and dancing many nights away. Steve loved his polkas.
Surviving are his sons, Stephen Pavelchick and his wife, Linda, of Brush Valley, and Timothy Pavelchick and his wife, Barb, of Blairsville; his grandchildren, Ryan Pavelchick and his wife, Nichole, Lisa Brewer and her husband, Tim, of Creekside, and Adam Pavelchick and his wife, Paige, of Homer City; his great-grandchildren, Garrett Brewer and Colsen Pavelchick; his step-brothers, George and Richard of Blairsville; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Norma (Preall) Pavelchick, on August 8, 2011; his brothers, Frank, John, Tom, Andrew, and Adam; his sisters, Mary Edwards, Martha Hill, Victoria McCurdy, and Ann Pazskow; and his step-brother, Mike.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday. Time to be announced.
