Steve Louis Skoff, 86, Homer City died February 14, 2014 at his residence. He was the son of the late Peter and Sophia Skoff and was born December 2, 1928 in Homer City, PA. Steve was retired coal miner having been employed by R&P Coal Company #488. He was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Homer City American Legion and the Blairsville VFW. Mr. Skoff is survived by his wife, Mabel (Conway) Skoff; two daughters, Sharon and husband Daniel Bell, Homer City and Karen Skoff of Indiana; three sons, Stephen and wife Lola, Homer City, Kenneth and wife Laurie and her family, Coral and Daniel and wife Wendy, Avonmore; grandchildren, Stacey Leger, Laura Breznican, Ben Skoff, Daniel Bell Jr, Tyler Skoff and Daniel Skoff Jr., great grandchildren, Anthony Breznican, Abby and Joey Skoff and Chase Leger. He is also survived by his sister, Pauline Evanko, Josephine and his brother George Skoff of Latrobe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kelly; brothers, Peter, Gabe and Ed Skoff and sisters, Francis Peternay, Marge Semon, Anna Piscevich, Bertha Evanick and Edith Kintz. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City. A Blessing Service will be held Thursday morning at 9:30 followed by a funeral Mass at 10AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Lucernemine Site with Rev. Fr. Ron Cyktor, the celebrant. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. The Homer City American Legion Post #493 will be conducting Military Services. Donations may be made to the Homer City American Legion.
