Lucernemines

Thomas Pete “Papa Tom, Pap Pap” (Pez) Fedinick, 77 of Lucernemines passed away peacefully at home on October 21, 2023.  He was the son of the late Pete (Pez) And Katherine (Semsick) Fedinick and was born on August 11, 1946, in Indiana, Pennsylvania.

Tom was employed for over 20 years with Helvetia Coal Company, Lucerne 6 in the coal mines following in his father’s footsteps.  He was a member of the mine rescue team.  After the closing of the mine, Tom worked at Electro-Mec for several years.

On January 9th, 1965, Tom married his high school sweetheart Mary Ann Johnston.  They were married for nearly 58 years until her passing in 2022.  Tom and Mary Ann had 3 daughters, Taunya, Danna, and Tara.

In Tom’s spare time, you would find him tinkering around.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and going to the casino.  Telling stories about his younger days was one of his favorite things to do.  He loved his family BBQs and going to listen to his son-in-law's CCR tribute band Pendulum.  Time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to him.

Tom is survived by his daughters, Taunya (Dennis) Bondra, Clarksburg, PA; Danna (Robert) Ruffner, Indiana, PA; Tara (Chris) Emmons, Arcata, CA; grandchildren Tom (Caditrina) Bondra, Nichele (Nikki) Bondra, Alex Bondra, Brooke Ruffner, Nolan Ruffner, Morrgin Fedinick-Emmons, Colsen Emmons; great-grandchild Jacob, Ellysan, and Max.  He is also survived by his younger brother, Lewis (Lou) Fedinick, sister-in-law, Betty Jane (Bill) Kammerdiener, and brothers-in-law, Scott (Roxie) Johnston and George (Jody) Johnston.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann who passed away on July 27, 2022.

Per Tom’s wishes, no services will be held.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to the family to help with any expenses as they have lost both parents in little over a year's time.
