On June 19, 2026, William David Schork, after a courageous 13-year battle with prostate cancer, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Bill was a fighter who faced this terrible disease with strength and determination until the very end.
Bill was born on January 8, 1958, to William and Mary (Lightcap) Schork. He was a proud graduate of the Homer-Center High School Class of 1976. He was employed by Indiana University of Pennsylvania for more than 31 years and enjoyed watching football games on the Saturdays he worked.
An avid outdoorsman, Bill was a skilled hunter who harvested many trophy deer with both bow and rifle. His greatest passion, however, was fishing. He spent countless days on the water catching trophy fish and tying his own custom flies. Some of his most cherished memories were made while fishing in Alaska, Montana, and Utah.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Gloria Jackson of Virginia Beach.
He is survived by his son, Brandon Schork of Pittsburgh; his sister, Mary (Chris) Rado, and husband, Ed Rado, of Homer City; his niece, Laura Caruso, and her husband, John Caruso, of Seminole, Florida; and his nephew, Jason Rado, and his wife, Stephanie Rado, of Homer City. He is also survived by his great-nieces and great-nephews, Brayden, Kaylee, Taylor, and Tyler.
Bill was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Parish in Indiana.
Friends and family will be received at Bowser Funeral Home in Homer City on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 (2pm-6pm). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas More University Parish on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 10:00 am. Burial will be private.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped make Bill's journey possible and supported him along the way as he made his way to his heavenly home.
