Barbara Ellen Harshyne

Barbara Ellen Harshyne, 83, died August 4, 2020 at The Fountains in Indiana.  She lived in Lucerne Mines all her life with the exception of the past 2 1/2 years at The Fountains.
She was born March 8, 1936 in Indiana, PA and was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Shandick) Harshyne.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish and worked in Accounting at Syntron in Homer City for 39 years. She was an avid hockey fan of her grand-nephew and always attended his games in Indiana.

She is survived by her two brothers, Donald W. Harshyne, Indiana, PA and Charles S. Harshyne and wife, Mary Elizabeth, Gulph Mills, PA; and two nephews, Larry Harshyne and wife, Karen of Sellersville, PA and Dennis Harshyne and wife Sandy of Shelocta, PA.  She is also survived by several grand-nephews and nieces and great grand-nephews and nieces

In addition to her parents, Charles and Mary Harshyne, she was preceded in death by her nephew Donald (Bo) Harshyne and her sister-in-law, Carrie (Tootie) Harshyne.

Due to the current situation, private services were held by the family.  The Bowser Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Homer City were in charge of arrangements.
