Betty (Tramontana) Poletto

Betty Poletto, 92, Homer City passed away March 22, 2017 at The Communities of Indian Haven. She was born on August 18, 1924 in Indiana County to James and Minnie (Sacco) Tramontana. Betty married Dominick Poletto on December 27, 1943. They shared 61 years of marriage until his death in 2004. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, known to many as Nunni. Betty was a very caring and generous individual and enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, baking cookies for family and friends and telling stories about the good old days. She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption and weekly member and treasurer of Weight Club of Homer City for 25 years where she made wonderful close friends. Betty is survived by two daughter, Gloria Williams and husband Paul, Marlene Ondo, both of Homer City; grandson, Gregory Ondo and wife Andrea and great-grandson, Dominik of Veazie, Maine. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters, Teresa Morganti, Frances Zendek and Minnie Battista and two brothers, Joe Hoty and Jim Tramontana. Special thank you to the staff at Indian Haven and Aseracare Hospice for their wonderful care. According to Bettys wishes, there will be no visitation. A funeral Mass will be held Monday, March 27, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Lucerne mines Site. Interment to follow in the St. Louis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Four Footed Friends or Aseracare Hospice of Johnstown. The C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home of Homer City is in charge of funeral arrangements.
