Brad Vance Obituary

Brad Vance, 39, passed away January 6, 2024. He was born on August 26, 1984, in Latrobe, PA, and was the son of Carlene Hilliard and Thomas Vance.

Brad was a loving father, husband, brother, and friend whose infectious laughter left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

He was a member of the Homer City American Legion Post #493. His professional life was spent as a skilled contractor at Vance Enterprises. Outside work, Brad enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, like boating, skiing, and camping. He was a master at carpentry, often found building cherished things for his children.

Brad is survived by his adoring wife, Ann Vance; his loving children, Tyler Bollinger, Cheyenne Vance, and Finnegan Vance; his mother, Carlene Hilliard; his father-in-law, Harvey Yanoschick; his siblings, Brian Vance, Devin Hilliard, Ashley Vance, and Alicia Altman. He is also survived by his uncles, Richard Rager, Kerry Vance, Dave (Sheryl) Vance and his aunts, Brenda Rager and Raylene (Alrick) Barbaza.

Very special to him were his cousins, Tom and Emily Rager, Aaron Rager; nephews, Jacob Swalga, Ryder Altman, Kolt Vance, and nieces, Lily Vance and Lilyana Swalga.

Brad leaves behind countless good friends, including Matt and Brittany Haer of Homer City and their children, the Shimko family of Homer City, and David Yewcic of Marion Center.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Carl and Wanda Rager; paternal grandparents, Kenneth Vance and Beverly Markle; his uncle, Thomas Rager; and his beloved dog, Harley.

Brad's absence leaves a void but his memory will continue to inspire and warm the hearts of those he leaves behind. If anyone needed him, Brad did not hesitate.  His multitude of skills and talents extended far beyond what words can say, just as his heart was filled with love for his family.
