Donald C. Smeal

Donald C. Smeal, age 84, of Homer City died Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Indiana Regional Medical Center. Donald was born on November 15, 1933 in Clearfield Hospital and was the son of Vernon F. and Bessie (Wisor) Smeal. Donald was a member of the John Lewis Shade Post #6, Clearfield and the American Legion Post #493 of Homer City. He was also a member of Club Savoy, Homer City and a charter member of BJW Fire Company, Woodland, PA. Donald was a veteran of the United States Airforce having served in the Korean War as a 1607th supply squadron. He was employed by Penelec, as a Supervisor for Mobile Maintenance department for 20 years. Donald is survived by his wife Janice (Peters) Smeal, of Homer City and by one daughter Brenda Shirley and husband Mike Hafer, Indiana and one son James Smeal, Indiana. He is also survived by two grandsons Christopher Shirley and Ryan Shirley and fianc Katherine and great granddaughter Alana. Donald is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers James, Kenneth and Leroy and one sister Lillian Tankalavage. Friends will be received Tuesday from 3-6 PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City. There will be additional visitation and funeral service on Wednesday from 1pm until time of funeral service at 3PM at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Clearfield, PA.
