Samuel J. Ross

Samuel J. Ross, 77, Homer City died Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Bethany Place. He was the son of the late Robert S. and Cordelia (Jack) Ross and was born January 6, 1940 in Indiana, PA. Mr. Ross was a United States Army Veteran and a life time member of the Indiana VFW Post #1989, the Homer City Fire Department, Elks Lodge #931 and Mason Lodge #313. He was also a member of the Homer City American Legion Post #493. Samuel was employed by Ross Drug Store and also worked at Season-All. He is survived by his loving companion, Janet Mitchell, with whom he resided; nephews, John L. Ross and wife, Kristie, Magnolia, TX and Robert S. Ross, Homer City. He is also survived by great nieces and nephews, Taylor L. Ferry and husband Josh, Derry; Keegan Ross, Ronald Ross, Crash Granger and Kozet Granger, all of Magnolia, TX. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Robert Ross, Jr. and John L. Ross and wife Judith Ann Ross. Friends will be received Tuesday from noon until time of service at 2 PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City with Rev. R.A. Wallace, officiating. Interment to follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.
