Thelma Hatherill

Thelma A. (Phillips) Hatherill, age 96, of Homer City, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2020 in Gulf Breeze, Florida.  She was born in Homer City, PA on March 22, 1923 and was the daughter of the late Alfred and Susan (Colvin) Phillips.

She was a graduate of Indiana Hospital School of Nursing class of 1945 and a member of the United States Nurse Cadet Corps, serving at Oliver General Hospital, Augusta, GA during WWII.  She completed post graduate training in Philadelphia specializing in Neurosurgery.  She was employed for many years at Indiana Hospital working primarily in the operating room.  She was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church of Vero Beach, Florida

She is survived by her two sons, Dennis Hatherill and wife, Betsy, William Hatherill and wife Debbie, and her daughter, Doris Mayausky and husband, Jack with whom she resided.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren:  Aaron Mayausky and wife, Wittney, Kaylin Roy, Jessica Hatherill, Scott Hatherill and wife, Becky, Ross Hatherill and wife, Jackie, Brent Hatherill and wife, Ellen, Kara Markley and husband, Jeff, and Lucy Mansur and husband Ethan, and Robin Hatherill and seven great grandchildren,  Dylan Roy, Macklin Hatherill, Reese Hatherill, Brooklyn Hatherill, Greta Hatherill, Lane Hatherill, and Addison Hatherill

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Hatherill

Friends will be received Saturday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City.  Funeral Services will be held Sunday at 2 PM in the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.
